I AM an AWARD WINNING Author

I think...

Can I be an author without my novel published? I did have one story published in Mary Jane's Farm magazine a couple of years back. Does that make me an author? I know I am a writer, but I am unsure about the label "Author". So, AM I an AWARD WINNING Author or Writer? Who cares? I won. :D

What did I win? I won the 2024 Words Award for the best first three chapters in an unpublished manuscript. I'm not sure what my prize is yet as it was just announced on the weekend. I am thrilled about the bragging rights though. I have only submitted to two competitions and one magazine and I was successful with 2/3. That's not too bad for this semi-newbie. My confidence is high which is nice because I am going to be charging into querying Iggy's Voyage asap and I need a blown-up ego to survive the dozens of rejections I will soon have. Haha! So, please wish me luck as I charge forward with my head held high and award-winning manuscript in hand. :D
