Press Release for the 2024 Word Awards + Writing Updates

I thought I'd share The Word Awards press release for the 2024 Word Awards for anyone interested. I haven't been contacted yet with the certificate of my award or am sure of what else is included (I believe a critique on my submission, paid year of membership, and possibly a small amount of prize money). After my week of drawing and brainstorming future story ideas, I've decided to join an online fantasy/speculative/dystopian/sci fi group called RealmMakers. I've jumped aboard their Realmiewrimo month of novel writing and have begun to write a new middle-grade family-centered climate change dystopian monster thriller (yes-that is a mouthful). For this one, I'm brainstorming how to write it as a fast-paced, quicker read for middle-grade readers with shorter attention spans. I lean towards longer stories so this will be a challenge but it should be fun to write. I may just need to edit edit edit to keep it around 20,000 words. Please wish me luck. I plan to get back to my flash fiction asap so please also keep checking in.
